Nature trails in the Jeseníky mountains

Millions of years of natural development, the formation of the purest climate and thousand years of human settlement. All are offered in a single experience in the nature trails of the Jeseníky mountains. The wealth of nature trails here guide you through a history of the nature and human activity of the region. Here you can see the most picturesque locations in these mountains, superb views, places full of magical secrets and moving history. Our nature trails are suitable for all age groups, and in their close vicinity are plenty of opportunities for accommodation or catering. Come and take a hike!

Hornická naučná stezka

Type of route: nature trail

Difficulty of route: medium

The instructional nature trail forms a circle beginning and ending at the square in Zlaté Hory (train and bus connection) at the Town Museum. It begins in conjunction with the blue hiking trail around the bus station toward Příčná hill. The difference in altitude between the lowest and highest points of the trail is 545 m. The circuit takes 6 hours to complete. The trail is marked by markers indicating an instructional nature trail.


Lesní ekostezka Švagrov

Type of route: nature trail

Difficulty of route: medium

The Ecology trail can be travelled by foot, on horseback, or on cross country skis in the winter. The beginning of the trail is at the hiking base in Švagrov, under the Mravenečník massif, 2 km from the town of Vernířovice. The trail forms a circuit. There are no information boards on the trail, only poles with the word "Zastavení". The trail can be travelled with a guide from the Středisko ekologické výchovy – Centre for Ecological Education, DDM Vila Doris in Šumperk.


Mineralogická naučná stezka Sobotín - Maršíkov

Difficulty of route: low

Sobotín (train and bus connection) and Maršíkov (bus connection), easy terrain with slight rise in elevation, mainly along forest trails.


Naučná stezka Bílá Voda - Hraničky

Type of route: nature trail

Difficulty of route: medium

Bílá Voda - Javorník - Hraničky. The instructional nature trail goes along cycling path no. 6044 from the village of Bílá Voda to Hraničky. The route goes through a number of interesting localities, including geologic and geo-morphologic ones.


Naučná stezka Králický Sněžník

Difficulty of route: medium

The trail begins in the town of Dolní Morava and goes along the yellow hiking path through the Morava River Valley all the way to its source below the peak of Králický Sněžník. It continues further along the red hiking trail to the crossroads above the Adélin spring, from there along the yellow path and ends at the Návrší tourist lodge. It is possible to traverse the trail from the opposite direction, starting at the Návrší tourist lodge past the source of the Morava River to the town of Dolní Morava. Only the final part of the trail actually lies in the Olomouc Region.


Naučná stezka Pasák

Type of route: nature trail

Difficulty of route: medium

The instructional nature trail begins in Branná below the railway station (bus and train) and forms a circle. It is intended only for walking. It is not recommended for cycling, on several portions of the trail there are rocky outcrops. The trail is marked by indicators stating it is an instructional nature trail and often it follows portions of the green and yellow marked hiking paths.

The trail can be accessed via the bus from Jeseník to Rejvíz. The trail begins at the Penzion Rejvíz and continues along the yellow hiking path in the direction of Bublavý stream. At station no. 3, there is a terrain station for overseeing nature with a cash box. Here they collect a symbolic contribution to the maintenance of the trails. This service also provides further information on the locale. The trail continues along a split log way to the Velké mechové jezírko (Large Peat Bog) with an area of 1693 m2 and maximum depth of 3 m. The path is marked by markers indicating an instructional nature trail. It is accessible in the summer season from May through October.


Naučná stezka  Šerák

Type of route: nature trail

Difficulty of route: high

Červenohorské sedlo (saddle – bus stop) or Ramzová (bus and train) and from there by funicular to Černava and Šerák. From Šerák it is possible to get to the town of Ramzová by foot or funicular. Mountainous terrain with great differences in elevation; a trail only for hiking on foot. Access is possible via the yellow hiking trail from Jeseník, the blue trail from Horní Lipová and the green trail from Kouty nad Desnou.
